Topic: Totaly confused!

Hi All,
I haven't kept fish in my pond for a long time. Now I have a catfish!
Where did it come from?
I don't have jokey neighbours. Access to my garden is seriously difficult.

Have you put any new weed in from any source whatsoever in the last 2 years? Or a plant? This happened when i transferred some weed to my mums nature pond.Several months later we found 2 young fish in it!!

Failing that,an even more unlikely explanation is on a birds feet,who has bathed in one pond then flown to yours with the weed attached.Yes i know it sounds incredible but weird things do happen.

When you say"a long time" just how long? Is it possible you never noticed it before? How big is it,i presume big enough to see it is a catfish.They are fairly rare  these days.

oooooooooo, that is exciting!!  Did you once have catfish and they might have laid eggs, and this little fry survived to adulthood when all around him had gone????  Maybe a birdie had it in his beak for his lunch, and miracle of miracles, he dropped it in your pond?  Spooky!
