Wow TG you've got a gorgeous plot there  ;D  Everything looks so healthy & strong!

I'm so depressed now though - went up to ours yesterday (during the five minutes it actually didn't rain here  ::) ) and we've lost the majority of our potatoes (can't tell if it's to rain or blight tho'), courgettes have failed since they went in the ground for some reason & the weeds have gone berserk again.

Oh well, there's always next year...  ::)

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

Very jealous seeing your aubergines! My plants looked great at the end of April but have hardly put on any growth since then.

wow, love the butternuts climbing - but in the gh ?  I've just not got the space.  Mine are still tiny in comparision and haven't even started flowering yet.   Aubergines are only just about to flower - how have you managed to get yours producing fruit ?  Is that the difference a heated gh makes ?

I couldn't view the pictures, (as I'm still on dialup)  :(

I haven't done much apart from a little bit of emergency weeding over the past few weeks.
My new camera arrived on friday, so I'll be able to take some pics soon.

I've taken on a new allotment this year, and I'm still clearing it of couch grass.
I do have some potatoes, onions, sweetcorn and peas.
I ate a pod of peas raw the other day, and they were lovely and sweet.

I've got loads of things in pots in my garden ready to go in, but due to the rain
I haven't been able to clear it as quickly as I'd like.

Teegee....you said you were thinking of giving up??? ???

Go and wash your mouth out with soap!!!!

Your crops look fantastic....I can only dream of such an achievement.

I hope your harvest tastes all the better for the adversity you have faced...and overcome. Congratulations :-*

Ah but you can't see in the pictures what I can see!!

Things such as mildew on my onions & brassicas.

Or piles of unripe Strawberries where the squirrels have cached them.

and all my Gooseberries have disappeared (squirrels/humans ??? )

Shallots that have only split into two as opposed to 6 plus.

Climbing beans that are not climbing.

Snails have eaten my Chrysants ,strangely enough only certain varieties and have left the dahlias in the next bed alone............or is that for afters ???

One bed in my alloy greenhouse is a huge ants nest.

Shall I go on ;) :)

I'm afraid I am a victim of my own high standards i.e. I get very frustrated when things go wrong and when I mentioned in my annis horriblis article that I was giving up ............things were going .........very very wrong.

Someone said what will do if I give up? yes that is the thing I have asked myself and as yet have not found an answer.............must decide before the seed catalogues start coming in!!

Tee Gee.  I am only three years in.  Three years is supposed to be the year that you really get going and I am having an absolutely crap year.  I planted about nine different varieties of winter squash and am now down to the two most dull (pumpkin and Butternut) my runners (my favourite summer veg) are a disaster.  My sweetcorn has stopped.  My brassicas have been flea beetled when dry, slugged/snailed and aphidded when damp.  My carrots have failed to show.  My potatoes are rubbish and showing that they may have blight on an evening when I had no time to do anything about it.  The summer squash is struggling through its latest sowing.  Everything sown recently has been eaten...I could go on.  I am thinking what is the point - I too have very high standards and self-expectations.

But I will carry on.

You should too!!

Your plot looks wonderful, well done on all your hard work.
