unusual bulbs?
« on: June 19, 2007, 21:28:23 »
Hi guys, me again... i have been digging bulbs up from the plot and not sure what they are, could some of the more experienced folkies have a little look on my blog and see if we can identify them. They look like onions but not sure that they are. They were hiding about a foot down when I was turning over the soil.
Thanks again

Do they look like this when cleaned up ?

If so they are Jerusalem Artichokes

Hi Tee Gee, no they are definately more onion like, they break up easy when squeezed. I know jerusalem artichokes are more tuber/potato/root like. Definately not those mate.

That could be a possibility, as the wee man that runs the place said there could have been some there. Now the next question is,... have i commited an offence by digging up around 20 bulbs??  :'(
