Pumpkin with yellowing leaves
« on: June 24, 2007, 22:01:15 »
Hi everyone - I put a healthy pumpkin plant in the ground a few weeks ago. Since then it seems to have stopped growing, the leaves have gone yellow and it's starting to die back. Any ideas what I did wrong?

More likely to be the weather that is causing the problems

Weather crap for pumpkins so far this year. They like it hot!  :(

Not hardened off before planting out? plus the current weather are probably the prime candidates.

I dread going to the lottie tonight to see the squashes. They really don't like cold weather and this cold damp will be awful for them. Plus, gives the snails a chance to have their wicked way with them!  >:(
This year it's squash.

I am now getting really anxious - have not managed to get to second lottie where I have planted all my pumpkins since last Thursday  :o I hope they are alright. I think because squashes have so much character it's like having pets, and at the moment I think I am in danger of being reprimanded by the RSPCS (Royal Society for protection of Squashes).  :o
Or as my OH is prone to saying I could be living in my own little dream world again.  :-\ i don't know.........................maybe. ;D
