strawberry question!?
« on: June 16, 2007, 09:10:31 »
I’ve heard on a TV show that to properly propagate a new strawberry plant from the runner line you skip the first daughter  but pegg down the second.

Can anyone confirm if this actually works, and if it’s  suppose to be beneficial for the mother plant or the new plant. ??? ???

A strawberry runner normally has a number of rooting points (daughters) what it means is don't try rooting the one at the tip just let this one grow and root successive points.

I have put some pictures on my website showing how to secure 'daughters' that might help;  http://tinyurl.com/284egs

Thanks Tee Gee, I found your site very useful.
Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you are a mile away. And you have his shoes. !!!
