Asparagus @ BBC Show
« on: June 14, 2007, 18:20:27 »
At the Isle of Wight Garlic Farm Shop in the Food section of the show, they are selling 12 one year old crowns of Gjinlim (misspelt no doubt) for £10. The variety was highly recommended by Bob Flowerdew as producing twice as many fat spears as most other varieties, and very tasty. I am thrilled, as it will force me to get on and sort out an asparagus bed which I have promised myself for three years - once this rain clears up!

I planted this asparagus last year, in true Bob Flowerdue style, building the bed up over the season, hard work, but this year the bed looks fabulous, I was very disciplined with the harvest and that was even harder!
