« on: May 30, 2004, 14:44:05 »
I have just bought and planted this in my garden.

Who else has one and can you give me some growing/ care tips for it please?

I have not grown a Weigelia before.

Plant in good soil which does not dry out, in full Sun or dappled shade. Grows to about 2 to 3 metres tall and wide eventually. Prune by cutting right to the ground about a third of old flowering stems after flowering has finished (not necessary for a few years though). No major pests or diseases. Propagate from cuttings in the normal way. Nice plants.
Gardening is the great leveller.

Great  :) Thanks Eric

I have planted it in good soil in a partialy shaded spot.  Bought as a feature plant in a new bit of border.  ;D

Hardwood Cuttings are the best way to propagate are they not? (so says the good Doctor (hessayon) anyway)
