Broad Beans
« on: May 10, 2007, 23:21:58 »
Well I have just picked my first crop of the year and very excited as I seem to have managed to sort out my succession planting this year for Broad Beans.

A row of Aquadulce Claudia went in November 2006 (the mice had a few away for Christmas Lunch)

A second row went in Jan after being grown in a gutter (I know BB's like long roots etc, but it seems to work really well with very healthy plants)

A row of Express went in in Mar, again after starting in guttering

Mid April a row of Bunyards Exhibition which are about ready to plant out now.

I now have one row cropping, a second which is now set and a third which should flower in about two weeks with a last row ready to go in.

Now if only the rest of the plot was doing so well. With the high winds this week some of my netting went flying and let the pigeon's in for a snack on my cabbages, they may recover but it is touch and go.
