Topic: Sad looking nightshade

Hello experts, dabblers and the like,

I've just been given three very sad looking solanum-nightshade plants.
They have been grown to look like small round bay trees, clipped into ball shapes.
Strange as I thought they were climbers... (correct me...)

I wonder, taking into account their poor condition (under-watering/general neglect), is it worth my while picking them up and transporting them all the way to lottie just to see them die?
Are they hardy enough to come back, given a bit of love and admiration,(maybe some horse poo?)

I hate to see a saveable plant go in the bin.

The only solanum I know of that can be trained like this is Solanum rantonnetii, now known as Lycianthes rantonnetii (I used to do this to them). They are very weedy and will take a hard pruning or just do cuttings and grown your own to the shape you desire.
