Sweetcorn question (don't laugh).
« on: May 24, 2004, 22:10:59 »
The main stems of the sweetcorn plants are growing little branches. Am I supposed to take them off?

Our sweetcorn plants (again like most of our plants) seem to have gone dormant however they look healthy - we think.

We have recently planted them out into their plot again are they just getting used to their new position.

Should we cover them with fleece or cloches or anything similar until they establish themselves again?

The little darlings are probably just getting used to their new surroundings, trying to push roots into a new  (an alien medium), out in the big (colder) wide world and so on give them a week or so.

I've found that fleece can damage corn by swashing it
