Topic: Identity?

I have done my best to identify plants for people, with some success, now it is your turn. This is an evergreen climber, the scent is absolutely wonderful.  The flowers have 6 petals normally, though some have 7 and there are usually 4 stamen or anthers or nectaries (not sure what they are). As you can see, they are not that big or showy, buds are pale pinkish and the flowers open to greenish white.

Eric, could it be Akebia quinata 'Shirobana' ('Alba')?

Not sure, the flowers of Akebia are different in shape. The next trellis along has Akebia quinata with red flowers on it.

How does it climb? Tendrils?
 It almost has an evergreen clematis look to it!

I was thinking evergreen clematis too Dottie!
Armandii ' Apple Blossom' has pinkish buds opening white, but not sure of size of flower, but the leaf looks very similar. I lost mine one severe winter many years ago.  :-\

Just thought I recognised the 5 leaflet new growth in pic, and checked with mine in garden. Altho' I have the golden form ( 3 leaflets ) could it be a type of Choisya - Mexican Orange Blossom ?? Not a true climber, but have mine growing up a 6ft sheltered fence! ........and the fragrance from the tiny flowers is wonderful at this time of year !

It is a twiner, like Clematis, but it is definitely not C.armandii, the flowers are very different and much smaller. Nor is it a Codonopsis as the largest of those only grows to about a metre and this is already 8 feet tall and twice as wide. And our Choisyas are very different. But thank you for your efforts.

This is a bit embarrassing, I have just been weeding round the base of this plant and found half a label with the first 3 letters of its name. 'Hol'
A search brought up Holboellia either coriacea or latifolia. We thing it is more likely to be the first as it is hardy and the other is more tender. THank you once again for your efforts. Daft thing is I can remember buying it now I know its name.

Campanula, just to let you know, claematis are in the buttercup (ranunculaceae( family, they have no family of their own!  :'(

Eric, I have seen this plant before, and at first couldnt remember the name of it but i did alitle searching and found it!

Holboelia (not got a species name for it) related to the Akeibia as someone suggested, so they werent far wrong.

The plant has leathery leaves and small white flowers in clusters. Vigorous twining plant. New growth is bronze coloured, a bit like Clematis armandii.
