Hello!
« on: April 08, 2007, 10:24:45 »
Hi there, I don't have a plot yet but I'm on the waiting list and can't wait to get started! I'll be getting the help of my 2 kids age 10 & 2 and OH will be along to carry heavy stuff (but that's about it!).

Thought I would say Hi instead of lurking all the time and hopefully not too much of this year will vanish before I get a plot.

Whatever it was I didn't do it but if I should have done then I have!

Hi Esre,
Glad your joining in :) it's much better fun than lurking ;)

hope you get a site soon,  I have a wee veggie garden, but it's gone to weed
as I couldn't do much last year, but I hope to get things under control this year.
You'll enjoy the site even if you only have house plants, the peeps here will give you so much encouragement and advice, they're a great lot :D
Have you thought of window boxes to keep you going in the mean time?
flowers or herbs?
Hope to hear from you soon :D

hi Esre, welcome in from the cold!! do you know how long your waiting list is? Hopefully it won't be too long before you're digging away! Do you have a bit of garden to dig up in the meantime or maybe you could grow some things in pots? Works very well for lots of things, even carrots and 'snips if you get deep enough pots/buckets/whatever!
Either way, welcome!  8)

Welcome aboard... I suggest you get some of the cheap plastic window boxes and get some salad leaf and things going... we do and we have five plots as well!

Get as much planted in containers then you can always take them down the plot when you get it.  Hope it's soon.  :)

Hi there,

Good luck in getting your own plot, as everyone else says grow in pots for a bit and do lots of research! ;D

Hi esre and welcome.  I agree with above - get some stuff going in pots while you wait.  Herbs are good as you'll want them near to hand anyway rather than away ont he lottie.
Hope you get good news soon  :)

Hey guys and thanks for the welcome. I'm slowly collecting bits and pieces to get me started and have bought a couple of books to be going on with.

As soon as we get the car back I will be off to get some compost and will throw a few bits in pots and see what happens :D

Hello.. I too have just added my name to a waiting list.. I'm number 2 in a queue! I can't wait. I live in a flat with no garden at the moment, so I can't do any practising! I'm just reading and asking family for bits for my birthday to get me started!   ;D
