New Samsung DVD/HDD recorder
« on: March 29, 2007, 00:02:31 »
Just got ourselves a combined DVD/Hard Disk drive recorder, with the thought of using it with our VCR to copy all our home recorded tapes onto either the drive or DVD. The machine would then replace the VCR.

Well sounds simple enough. The machine is a samsung bought via QVC (a recent TSV), and on the presentation they said it would do all that we wanted it to do. Great.

When it came to setting up did the problems start. Firstly we couldnt configure the handset to work with our Panasonic TV. Then after following the set up instructions, we could not and still cannot veiw SKY TV (or sky plus functions) with the new machine connected (correctly). In addition whilst at first we could access ordinary TV, after tuning the recorder into the TV channels we then had problems accesing the analogue tv channels.

I dont know if anyone has had any experience of this, but if you have I would be gratefull for any advice please.

Just ask if you need any more info.
