I saw one fruiting at RHS Rose Garden in St Albans in the late 90's...
Thought about one for home but it is much colder here in the midlands...

I've got some seeds, I haven't planted them yet.
I'll keep a couple as indoor plants and then try one outside when it's big enough.

It's two years old, flowered last season, and looked as if it was starting to fruit, but I think the heatwave affected it. However, I'm expecting fruit this season.
I remembr on GW they planted a Kiwi at Berryfields and it fruited the same year - however, they didn't say how old it was when they got it!
I'd give it a go - I've got an orange and a lemon flowering and fruiting right now without any protection.

I planted Kiwi in my old south facing garden, here on the south coast. I planted both male and female vines and had fruit after 3 years. They have got quite hairy stems and huge hair leaves, quite red on the back ~ very attractive!
When i was last in Brittany, saw a garden covered in fruit, it looked amazing. Reminded me of when i lived in NSW, Australia and had passion fruit covering our fences!

Mine was in two years before it fruited. They do not ripen on the vine. Put them in a bowl of bananas and they will ripen in about 2 weeks. Don't do them all at once as they will keep for months.
They are worth growing just for the flowers and woolies have them for sale cheap.
