Mine's only a 5 rod (half plot). I'm thinking I'll have to grow stuff upwards (squash and cucs) on a trellis type thing to make more room, and have limited myself to 1st and 2nd early spuds only this year. :(
Smile, it confuses people.

well i was trying to limit things but the allotment association told me not to buy any seed spuds as they always had left overs.  When i entered the shed full of committee members all recommending different types i ended up with 15kg and about 6 or 7 different types! thats a 3rd of it gone for spuds alone!  :o

Mine is about 300m2 (30mx10m) and is a half plot (half of the biggest plot on the site).  I want the other half now (have had my half for two years).

A rod is 5.5 yards (or 5.0292 meters or 16ft 6ins) and I think a pole is another name for the same.

Oh dear, just worked it out. You could fit about 15 of Hazelize's size allotments in our garden! No wonder I am exhausted!

Ours is 5 square rods (poles) which is, I have just learned, half a plot.

We've only got about half of it to cultivate though as 1/4 is taken up by a big pile of rubble and a couple of elder trees, and another 1/4 taken by the ramshackle greenhouse.

I'll try to find a decent photo later.
My allotment blog Plot326.  In it's infancy at the mo but in time it'll grow.

We have a standard size plot but it's only 55ft x 25ft - after just one year I want more space!

Look at it this way: you've already cleared 65 square feet - not bad going!

Don't know if you can see this, but it tries to show how nice it is to have reduced from 2 allotments to ones own homefront.

I can now hoe in my nightwear!! And, thankfully, we don't get vandalised. Except by other peoples cats.
