Someone elses rubbish
« on: May 03, 2004, 16:05:48 »
About a year ago a member of our garden club decided to throw away a Cymbidium/Orchid because it was getting to large and untidy so I thought I might have a go.

I divided the sudo bulbs into five sections and kept two. The other three I sold for club funds.

This is the result today, there are another 6 buds to open yet;

Does anyone happen to know the variety by any chance?

That is absolutely gorgeous, love the colour - so rich.

It's certainly a beauty, how lucky of you to get it!I'm 90% sure the  variety is "Sandridge Torch".

What a beautiful flower Gardener.  I have looked in my RHS Encyclopedia and the one that looks very like yours is Cymbidium Pontac 'Mont Millais'.

Daughter bought me one for Mother's Day and it is still going strong with more buds to open.  I am amazed at how long the flowers last.  You certain seem to have the midas touch where plants are concerned.
Happy gardening all...........Pat
