Free pallets!
« on: February 09, 2007, 18:20:07 »
Hello

I asked for pallets on Freecycle. Someone contacted me to say that Wicks DIY stores will give you them free, as long as they dont have Wicks printed on them.

Just thought you might be interested.

seems common policy at Wickes...ours in Brum give them away too, so it's good that you've brought this to the top caroline 8)

Wish I had known that -we were there a couple of days ago getting some compost [best deal I have found -4 bags of 80l for £10] in my husband's car , a volvo estate and a couple of pallets would have fitted in beautifully - unlike in my fiat punto!! Perhaps I can plan another visit as I will need more compost to top up the raised beds.

I found that local industrial estates were full of unwanted and unused pallets.
On sunday (yesterday), i asked at one of the units on an estate and was told to help myself to as many as i wanted, so went back for a trailer load.
Was told to return whenever i wanted any more.
Would put on ebuygumbay, but wouldnn't like to guess the postage, as that would be the only charge for them. How could i make money out of something that was given to me free???? ::) ::)

Whilst i was off loading some pallets the other day, one of my lottie neighbors pointed out a few, of which i could get a few quid for each.
I am going to get a load more,i am building a shed as well as a composting area, but will seperate those that will contribute towards my rent.
Self sufficiency!!! ;)

There's a pallet going free on my drive.. Can't give the bloody thing away on Freecycle. Nowt wrong with it, I just don't need any pallets at the moment. So if anyone's near the M21 area of Manchester, come and grab it. Please!
