There goes the wilderness.....
« on: September 15, 2003, 14:06:37 »
The wild plot next to our has been taken on.  This is a plot with hardly any topsoil and what there was made into raised beds on the top half.  The rest was then left to go wild to encourage wildlife by the previous holder.

About three quarters of it was trashed and torched while I was on holiday.  I'm really worried (see my other posting on this elsewhere).

If the new plotholder is capable of lighting and leaving unattended bonfires in a dry Summer,  I dread to think what I may have to put up with through the year.

Suffice to say, an extra hedgehog box will be made, and my bird feeders have been moved.

Well I suppose the guy hasn't a clue what's under there until he clears it. I don't agree with him leaving the fires burning unattended, but as far as clearing his plot, what do you expect him to do?

Well it is tough, but if someone goes to the effort or taking on a  lottie, they usually want it to grow something, preferably not weeds.  I am sure wildlife in London is used to being moved on, and I bet they don't wander far.  Have a chat with the new resident, chances are he/she doesn't know what is living there.
