Seeds at Wilkinsons
« on: January 02, 2007, 15:46:25 »
The local branch has started stocking seeds again, they have their usual own brand 'collection' packets eg 6 varieties of toms for £2.29 (costoluto fiorentino, gd, golden sunrise, red pear, san marzano 2, tigerella), same with lettuce (all year round, grand rapids, little gem, lollo rossa, salad bowl mixed, webbs wonderful), a couple more too that I didn't take much notice of.

Best of all, although it wasn't marked it was buy one get one free when I got to the till!

Both of the above, 1 x PSB, 1 x Calabrese, 1 x Evesham Special sprout, for £3.47...  :o :o :o

Would have got loads more if I'd realised it was BOGOF.   ;D ;D ;D
I hoe, I hoe, then off to work I go.

Thanks Robin, will head to my local branch to have a snoop.

Just treated myself to www.alanromans.com and got 13 veggie seed packets for 50 pence each! Bargain!
This year it's squash.

Just been to B&Q. Whilst there got:

Courgette (Zucchini)
Lettuce  (red salad bowl)
Lettuce (Green salad bowl)
Peas (Kelvedon Wonder)

And a compost tray - to put all seed trays in. Easier to water them then.

Personally, I'll wait until the local DIY shop is selling onion sets, not that they'll be much cheaper, but at least I'll be helping the locals...and anything they don't have, I can always go back to Wilko's.   :) :)

Don't know if they'll sell pots, though.  ::)
