Garlic in Pots
« on: December 11, 2006, 10:28:33 »
I've put some garlic in, but my soil is so claggy I want to put some in pots too as a back-up.

Anyone (Georgie?) got any advice on how deep pots need to be (was planning to use black pots from florists) and how many I can get away with in a pot?
You been goofin' with the bees?

Hello Pye.  I plant 3 cloves in pots which are 12" deep and 12" in diameter.  This works well for me.   :)

Hi Pye,
I always start my Garlic off in pots because my soil has a tendency to waterlog (especially in the wet weather at the moment).  I then plant them out in march, and they do very well.

If you want to do this then you can cram a few more in each tub as you can space them out properly once planted out.
