Topic: Sowing Maple seeds

Hey. I collected some seeds from a maple that was in full colour last week. they'd been scattered allover the grass underneath it so i collected some. i didn't have anything to put them in so i put them in the zipped pocket in my wallet. only to find when i went to sainsburys last time....i shook out the pocket at the till to pay for something, i had spilled the seeds allover the conveyor belt lol. she must have thought i was a right weirdo lol.

BUT anyway. how do i sow them? and how likely are they to come true?

there seemed to be 4-5 of the same variety planted in a row and i didn't see any other maples nearby.

Depends on what it is, species come true, hybrids may not. Sow them now in standard compost, stood upright (the seeds, not you!) Place some where safe and leave for the weather etc to do its work. Bring into gentle heat in spring when they may germinate.
