allotments in wigan
« on: November 05, 2006, 15:08:13 »
we, Golborne Allotments association, in Wigan have just received the grant we've been waiting for since June, this is to provide fencing all around our plots as the club have ran out of funds and cannot!! provide any money for us, anyway, from next year, hopefully, there will be at least three small plots free, we're trying to make 1 or 2 suitable for people with some sort of disability, e.g, raise the beds up to waist height with some sort of sleepers, so, anyone in or near Golborne, Wgan, let us know if you're after a plot :D

We've just applied for an area panel grant for our common boundary with a neighbouring site which allows theives into ours as we have security fence on three sides!

hope your grant comes through quickly, there's nothing worse than going to your plot wondering whether someone's
slashed the poly or smashed the greenhouse, it's taken since june to get the grant and will be another month before we get the fence up.
then, it's roses up the fence and barbed wire along the top, we've had a lot of vandalism in the past so we're taking no chances,
here's hoping you get it soo  :)
