Self-blanching Celery
« on: September 26, 2006, 10:32:14 »
Why is it that, for 2 years now, it has produced twice as many spindly offshoots as main ones? This is what remains.

And, just as it starts to heart up, the rot sets in? Not easy to see in the photo, but blighty looking leaves.

Mine's gone the same way Tim - all 60 plants  ::) Not that I'm bothered in the slightest - I can't STAND the stuff! Father-in-law is a little tearful about it though ... but he'll get over it I'm sure  ;D

similar problems - very puny sticks.  Also very tough to eat.  Don't think I will be growing this again.

I am particularly miffed because this got lots of watering over the summer. Even when I didn't water anything else I watered the celery.  And this is how it repays me!
