Quessie for Curry, non garden related
« on: September 22, 2006, 15:38:48 »
The other night whilst chatting, you mentioned a band of the rock persuasion that you thought I might like.

Now, I thought I remembered it as Edenridge but all of my searches have come up with zilch.  I've tried Edenridge, Eden Ridge, Edenbridge, Eden Bridge and so on and so forth.  I've obviously just remembered it wrongly.

Any chances of a reminder please (I can't PM)  Thanks.

A reminder is my pleasure - the band is called Edenbridge.

http://www.edenbridge.org/

I used google to locate this site, the first hit.

Post editted - Other bands which I have enjoyed of European origin ...

Within Temptation
Nightwish
Madrugada

However, music is extremely personal (and private in my case), so there is no guarantee that you will enjoy them. I find that very few people share my passion for music, which is one reason I have quit my guitar classes (after 12 years).

Thanks for that.  Am on their site now listening to samples of The Grand Design.  Notice they have a UK tour in November, are you going to give it a go?

No, I prefer not to get out and about if I have the choice - just as a taxi service for my family.

I (I should say we but OH tries very hard to wriggle out of some of the concerts peformed by the artists I like hehe) try to grab the chance to see my fav. bands when the chance arises.  All work and no play makes me a dull gal!

Have just bought two tickets for us to see Katie Melua at Wembley in December.  We've seen her about three times before, she's very good live (with a tendency to waffle a bit too much though)

Had a listen and quite like their sound, however I find them quite... very Queen derivative  but without Eddie Mercury's powerful and excellent voice.

Haven't seen them perform of course so don't know if they're drama queens! ;)

For me they are music at work, and I need a wide span to suit different moods...

Talking of different moods, I am going to take an opera singer cd down to the ice rink next week, so they can put it on the disco machine :) ... Petra Berger is the name, a phenomenal voice ...

Man, I've just spent far too much downloading music.

It started as a Bowie search, then I spotted Under Pressure which made me think of Queen so I went looking for them, which got me thinking of Queen + collaborations ... you get the picture.  HOURS later ..... I'm listening to Bowie  ;D

Edit:  I meant to add, Petra Berger - 5*, she is awesome.

Katie Melua. I loved the first album, I found it very exciting. The second one seemed a bit more indulgent, definitely more a bluesy sound, but not so commercial. Another musician that gets grouped into that 'private' cluster.
