The Allotment Handbook ...£5.00 off
« on: August 25, 2006, 22:41:07 »
Hi there, just to let you all now i went to WHSmiths today and bought Caroline Foleys Allotment handbook. Hard back price was £12.99 but if you buy a book for over a tenner you can get a voucher and get £5 off.

This apllies to any book over £10 so the book only cost me £7.99 excellent value i thought.

Thought i'd share it with you lot.

 ;)

i was given her handbooks for a leaving present - thoughtfully as i had been allotmenteering for two years and HAD the books i required  ::) (what i REALLY wanted was cake)

anyways, if anyone is in need of 'the a-z of allotment vegetables' (majors on the veg varieties but also describes all other things described in the 'allotment handbook', i.e. preparation, rotation, diseases etc etc) - both books are very similar - a LOT of cut and paste going on there!

i can also be persuaded to part with 'the allotment handbook' itself - it does have a slightly larger section on fruit but nothing i didnt know before.

some kind of donation /seed swap/craft swap would be very welcome, if anyone is interested.
