Biggest Pumpkin Category - 2006
This thread is for the measure-in of the biggest pumpkin. Here are a few rules:

1. The biggest pumpkin is the winner and it's grower will receive a small prize.
2. The pumpkin you enter must have been grown and cared for by you.
3. You are allowed to enter a pumpkin on behalf of your child or grandchild.
4. The pumpkin must be photographed with a tape measure around it's largest circumference and the picture posted on this thread together with measurement information.
5. This is a light-hearted competition and we are relying on 100% honesty, so no cheating!
6. Even if you don't think you'll win, please post a photo and the weight of your pumpkin, we'd all like to see everyone's efforts.
7. You can enter for the Pumpkin Carving category (see other thread) but you cannot enter the same pumpkin for both Heaviest (other thread) and Biggest (this thread) pumpkin categories. You can enter a different pumpkin for each category.
8. Closing date: 31st October 2006

Good luck everyone :D

Here is a pic of my biggest!  Didn't grow as big as I would have hoped.  Think more manure next year.! It measures 45" around the middle and 47 from top to bottom!    :D busy_lizzie

I think I should have put my pumpkin in the heaviest section instead of biggest, its 77 inch round, weighing 13 stone 9, put it on the digital scales. no pics, just managed to read the display while steadying the pumpkin

if it was bigger I would hollow it out and use it as a boat, one gardener in the paper did it last week, he even put a small outboard motor onto it.
