« on: August 08, 2006, 16:34:30 »
......to a get together, seed swap and ideas swap! :o

Yep, I've decided on a date: 2nd September, it's a Saturday, so hopefully more peeps will be able to come at the weekend

I thought it about time that I repaid some of you back for all the useful info etc. which I have gained from the sight in the last few months................my method of repayment will only be tea & cakes etc. but all are welcome!  8)

The meet will be at my house, in March, Cambs, I know there are quite a few A4A members in the area, and would love to meet up with you all  :D

Please let me have any ideas and interest by reply or by PM

Bugger! I am busy as well that day, but you could send my bit of cake down to me  ;D
Just to hi-jack your thread for a minute, I shall be holding court and giving advice at the  Wolverton Manor garden show, So if you are holidaying over here on the garden isle come and see me. If you write your questions on the back of a 5 pound note I will try to answer them. ;)

Hi, it's not s secret, just difficult to explain,   ??? it's a raku kiln! man who makes them is delivering it and demonstrating it, so will probably take a while to set up and get using  :D

Eek prinky, is raku the one where you bake the cups, have a cuppa, then smash them? ???

Basically I'm a bit of an "Arty-farty" type person  :o, into most arts and crafts, the kiln and more info can be found on:
http://www.rakukilns.co.uk/

The pottery is ancient in origin, and it's the glaze that makes it different, you glaze a pot, heat it in the kiln and then let it cool in an upturned bucket full of straw or sawdust etc. it changes the glaze as the air is burnt off. Leaves a very pretty glaze, with a kind of metallic sheen to the colour!

Looking forward to playing with it!  :D
