Ex-pond
« on: July 30, 2006, 11:36:30 »
No, no holes, just drying up from lack of rain. We have taken the chance to remove some of the overgorwn stuff, but even so................... This should be a metre deep by the way!

Thats the problem with small ponds. Growing more surface plants will reduce evaporation in this heatwave. You can always top up with rain water?

Small pond? It is 12 feet by 8 feet. Shade the surface? There was very little water showing, the irises and the other thing covered it beautifully. Rain? Until the last two days we have had no measurable rain since the middle of June!
By the way what is left is still more than a wellington boot height deep!
