Euphorbia OK for the compost heap?
« on: March 29, 2004, 14:01:12 »
Could you kindly let me have your views on whether or not euphorbia (or indeed any other plant with gooey irritating sap) is safe to compost?
Erring on the side of caution, I've always burnt it, but this seems a dreadful waste!
Over to you knowledgeable peeps!

Good one. Well, it's safe to compost succulents generally so I don't see why not. One possible drawback would be that the sap is an irritant to those with sensitive skin but if it's handled safely I don't see why it shouldn't break down in the compost heap.
