shallots - what's the best way to store them? Any wise tips...

In string bags. I don't grow enough to store for long; they're soon gone apart from the planters, which go in the ground in October.

, I've just brought half a sack of shallots back from the lotty today.
(now realsie that this question was in the wrong subject area)

I hang mine in the garage - in small bunches. They keep well until early July. We never buy onions.

I strip them down and chuck them in a large string bag. I shake and turn them frequently.
