Summer Winds
« on: June 10, 2006, 10:02:37 »
Did anyone else notice the strong winds we had in southern england yesterday (evening especialy)? Well I did and it certainly wasnt forecast was it?

Just typical really, you get the garden just coming into its prime, then along comes near gale force winds threatening to wreck it all! My oriental poppies especialy got badly knocked about - they were looking glorious (still are I guess minus a few blooms and looking deciddly drunken).

Of course the other problem was it was such a dry wind, ripping out whatever moisture that was in or around many of my plants. Tried to have a good warering session out in it and just got 'blown' into a bad mood. Sigh!

Still its not all doom and gloom, woke uo this morning to find things not as bad as i'd feared, and even some new plants comeing into flower. So that cheered me up a bit.
