Being an Allotment Rep
« on: June 04, 2006, 17:30:50 »
In a weak moment, or it could have been a touch of sun stroke, I volunteered to take over the role of Rep for our site.

Are there any reps out there with some advice for me?  Things that have worked well for you, tips for getting the council to pull their finger out, while thinking that it was their idea and also what to avoid.....

Over to you  :)

The first thing I'd do is try and get the council's Allotment Officer to visit you. Try and suss out whether he/she is helpful or not and what exactly they can/should do for you. I'm often surprised when I explain a problem we've got and our Allotment Officer says 'Oh we can do that for you' and it hadn't ocurred to me that help would be forthcoming.
