forgotten parsnips
« on: April 19, 2006, 21:27:30 »
last year i planted all sorts of stuff. leeks didn't do very well, brassicas all eaten by cabbage fly. re-doing whole garden this year, forgot about tiny row of parsnips until OH was getting the bit ready for sleeper raised bed, i noticed some growth there. Parsnips! i said, put fork in and pulled out a fine specimen of a parsnip! along with 6/7 pitifull ones! point is, I got 1! first thing out of garden this year to eat! and by accident!

well done you !!!  wotnopic ?  i'd have had it framed on the wall if it were me  ;D

i'm glad the accidental theory of gardening works as i think i'll be relying on that heavily this year  ;D ;D
