Another squash question.
« on: May 05, 2006, 14:57:15 »
What sort of size do the bush varieties grow to?
Do they need any support?
I've got some Jaspee de Vendee which are apparently a bush type.

Stuffed,
Our bush courgette plants have never needed any support.  They grow to about 3 feet across, but that is mainly made up of large leaves on thick hollow stems.
The flowers/fruits tend to emerge from close to the centre of the plant, and the plant itself just gets kind of..... bushy. :D
You can always lop off a few leaves if it spreads out too far.
"Given that these are probably the most powerful secateurs in the world, and could snip your growing tip clean off, tell me, plant, do you feel lucky?"
