i got a 6' x 6' norfolk-greenhouse ultimate (not sure what's ultimate about it, i think it's got slightly thicker perspex although i could be entirely wrong), solar vent, staging, and a wee parafin heater for £251 which if everything holds up, i didn't think was that bad.  i'm not going to bother with a base, but get a couple of bags of easy concrete to hold the thing down, so there's not real other expense (apart from my temper when i'm building it).

it's going where the horizontal pallet is in the pic.  the sun will hit the left hand-end about 11am every morning (fingers crossed) so it will get it as long as it's out.  i've got to get out there and level it off properly.  once it's erected, it will have about 3" of soil along one length and the the patio brick wall along the other length so that will provide a bit of extra support.

i love thinking out loud about it all cos then it seems all the more real, so thanks for listening  ;D

silly moo, forgot the pic  ::)

and don't forget the bath (out of shot)  ;D, verily i live in a palace  ;D

i don't mate, not figured that one out yet.  i was thinking of tying "heavy things" to the lid prop.  i must admit to havnig reservations about the strength of it, but must admit that it hasn't moved yet.  i've not got much in there atm. i will have a bit of a pot move round tomorrow i think and make some room in the plastic greenhouses.

Frame nearly done !!!  and the wind was kind enough to die down for a bit.

Tel - you didn't tell me you had to have fingers the size of sprouting spring onions to get some of these screws in  ;D

Imagine my delight when one of our gardeners, who's a landscaper, asked me if I had any use for 3 greenhouses. One of his customers wanted them removing from his garden. Duly dismantled, two went to needy tenants and I had the curved roof one which turned out to have automatic windows too! I'm still keeping my ears open for a jacuzzi and a pallet though.

lol  Tel......... i think the neighbours shut their windows with all the swearing when the bits kept disappearing down the cracks between the slabs lol

djbrenton ......you haven't lived til you've got a pallet.  it was very handy for lifting me up that wee bit to do roof.  and i was waving a drill around frantically yesterday putting drainage holes in the base of the jacuzzi.  reading on another thread about qualified electricians having to install power to the shed and there's my extension lead  hanging over the greenhouse and the runner bean trellis keeping it out of the mud.  mind you i did have my "safety" rubber clogs on  ::)  ;D

My next door neighbour's new shed  (old plot and new one) is almost totally built out of pallets.

snow stopped play with the greenhouse which is now weighted down with a couple of sandbags and various other heavy things.  :o

i could almost write a Deeds type story about the OH under the sink swapping the outside tap from hot to cold, but i wouldn't be able to do it justice.

i did say, "stop being loud, you  make me nervous !".  there is still a sopping wet towel in the middle of the kitchen floor which gives you an idea of what was happening.

i did get the carrot bed filled though, so one step closer ... baby steps lol.

oh and i fell badly off the wagon at midnight, i'll try again tomorrowl   ;D
