Starting a new thread of snow clad photos from our trip to Scotland. We only arrived back about 1 1/2 hours ago, haven't had a good look at them yet will post more as time permits.
DD
This is the launch to and from our Hotel, and the view.

Lovely couple of pics there DD. I adore Scotland, spent a lot of time in Aviemore and the Caingorms as a teenager, then did a tour of Scotland when I learnt to drive. Happy days! I have a lovely Haggis in the freezer - poor mite - so I think I will endulge tomorrow night.

Visited this posh boat lift yesterday, some feat of engineering.

Sorry Carol, we visited Loch Lomond for a 5 day break. The hotel we stayed at is on the side of the boat. The view with the red pizza hut was taken on our visit to Oban.

Yes it was an included excursion. Took about 15 minutes in total to tie us in and release us at the top. You didn't really feel any movement, then we went through the Antonine tunnel. Total trip was about 45 minutes, good value at the moment because you get to go up and down(2 lifts for the price of one)
The launch to the hotel is a much better option than the 15 miles round trip from Aberfoyle, very scenic but takes forever in a coach. Last 2 were taken on our upward journey on Wednesday, sure you know where ?
Definitely no more tonight, tired out will try and add more tomorrow.

Hi Littlegem, no not at Alton towers. Its known as the Falkirk Wheel. If you google it you should find their website. Only one of its kind in the world. Will try and post 1 more picture for you showing a little more detail.

Sorry the quality on some is not as good as I would like. This is a shot taken from inside the coach as it was moving, tried my best to capture the light hitting the Loch.
All images were taken using my pocket camera not my DSLR, not that the camera was at fault anytime just the user not being familiar with the controls.

sure you know where ?
Excuse me for probably stating the obvious DD, but is that Gretna Green (only been up that way once about 9 years ago.) Remember popping into the Tartan Shop for a couple of things.
Beautiful photos, must visit again some time ;D

Thank you GW and Heldi, wasn't as cold as we anticipated. Supprised amount of snow still around the hotel though. Apparently the tour the week before had to stay another day as they couldn't get out of the hotel.
Favourite trip out was through Glen Coe to Oban. Only one quick stop for photos though so mostly taken through the coach windows, hence slight loss in quality.
Will try and post more through the day as I check through them.
Keep your eyes peeled.

Brilliant photos. ;D
OH and I stayed at the Inversnaid hotel, many years ago - before children, so that's at least 14 years, and probably more. ::)
