Hi the photo is not very clear but it looks rather like an aspidistra.

Sorry, forgut to say that this was outside all winter .dont know if this helps?

Yup, aspidistra. They will survive outside, although they look a bit battered afterwards.

Yep, I've got one of those.It's been outside forever (at least 3 years) and it is an aspidestra.
