Topic: IVY is it a WEED!!!

personally I dont think Ivy is a weed, it just has a nasty habit of spreading everywhere it possibly can. Im not a lover of it and I had it growing up the archway in my garden. Weedkiller didn't appear to ahve an effect on it so I hacked the whole lot down and dug up the roots which were very long and difficult but it appeared to do the trick as it never reappeared last year  ;D

Have just had ivy stripped off the majority of my garden walls (10-15' high). Now have exposed all the damage it's done over the years - so lots of repointing to be done!  ::) I'd say in my garden it's a mega weed - if it gets into the borders, it seems to slurp up all the moisture, roots go on for ever.
