Got it, scans each start up. But how the heck do I get rid of it as already have Microsoft beta spyware. Can't find an uninstall option anywhere including in Add/Remove Programmes!

go to start then - run - type inĀ - msconfig - go to the start up tab - then look down the list for aol spyware - untick the box on the left hand side - then finish. it WONT start again!!

THe only AOL files I can see are...

AOL 9.0 tray icon

Do you have anything called "aluria"? They provide he engine for AOL's spyware scanner, I believe.

doh! <slaps head> I found the control in AOL under "safety" in the top toolbar and have now managed to switch it off!.
Never did find a relevant file under msconfig or anywhere else though!
Thanks for the responses anyway! It may help someone else.
