Recycling potato soil/mulch
« on: January 19, 2006, 08:53:03 »
I am about to start digging for my potatoes in pots & compost bin.  What can I do with the soil/mulch that I dig up?
*Put it on the ground to start a new vege patch
*Put some in my compost tumber
*Only plant the next 'rotational' vege in it

Thanks, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As spuds are hungry feeders the compost will pretty much be spent but it makes a good soil conditioner.

Add add mine to my compost bins for use later in the year.

i agree with jerry
dig in into the soil but dont expect much nutritional benefit from it. rather it improves soil structure
