I'm sure we have more weeds this year than before.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

We have now! The rain has been lovely, but as always the weeds are up and outgrowing the crops. I had been watering regularly but proper rain is always better.

I think that I know where the idea "day of the triffids" came from now  :)

Actually we are still in drought here and I have found the weeds less than otheryears! Still alot of bindweed but much less grass, clover and redshank. Or maybe teh previous efforts at pulling and covering are just starting to pay off!
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

nettles are the bain of this plot.

WTH they come from i dont know, you carefully dig literally thousands out and they still keep coming.
Nothing is ever as it seems. With appropriate equations I can prove this.

Regarding weeds.... are these weed wands any good???? Would an ordinary blow torch not do the same job?

Not enough oomph, you'll use far more gas trying to do it with a blowtorch, unless its one of the old large paraffin blowtorches.
