Top Tips Forum

Yes, yes, I know we can answer questions on the Basics board and I know there is a search facility, but how about a top tips forum? There was a lovely little programme on the Beeb a while back - just a five minute filler and there were a few of them - where people in certain trades gave their top tips and secrets. It was brilliant!

So, how about a place where people can share their tips, such as which brand of stockings Tim sent Alishka for her tom plants ;), or our favorite home remedy for green fly etc and have the rest of us learners go "oooo, that's a good idea!"

The search facility would mean that top tips on things would come up in any relevant search, too. Just a thought..........

Love, Palefire

I loved that programme too! - and this idea - would love a 'tips bit' - esp money saving tips, what people re-use/recycle to use in their lottie.

Care to modify your post, faltering-flicker? I sent Tim the stockings...what were they? A newly darned pair of my mid-brown support lisle stockings of course and, as these were rather special tomatoes and cukes of his I chose a pair of my Sunday Best...those with a seam up the back..well, actually, now that my legs have got quite bandy in my old age, I don't wear them too much these days....

but old tights are GREAT for tying up anything with stems which will swell and grow, without cutting into the plant.

Ina shared with us on the Beeb Board, last year, her Top Tip for memory-jogging when she's at her lottie, and I'd like to see Hugh's coffee trial on permanent display, too.

I got my tear-free onion peeling tip from the same programme, too, btw.

OK - I know I've been away for a while, and if you don't use it you lose it, but did you get a chance to reply to this suggestion Dan?  It is a brill idea....  Can't see anything - please help a poor gardener in her dotage!

By the way, Dan - are you still after articles?  I will apply myself and try and find some time to devote a page or several to comfrey if you are.!
