Haha your car is mad Dibber I love it!

I haven't passed my test...and probs never will... cos I aint got the will. But if money was no problem and I had passed my test I'd have a Dodge Viper. If I could drive now, I would sell our Nissan Tarrano and have a Beetle and yes I would have a flower in the vase.

Ours is a sensible family based diesel engine Ford Mondeo estate.  Big enough to pack all of our clobber in, big enough for 2.5 children, mum, pets, etc, and cheap-ish to run.

Our non sensible is a way to fast Yamaha Thundercat motorbike (which I am hoping my darling will upgrade after Christmas to something equally as fast and roaring!)  ;D

We sold our car last spring and bought a big bench instead to put on the street outside our house, where the car used to be. I reckon we're £30 a week up, all our neighbours come and sit outside with us (when it's not raining) and I don't worry about our kids being in a car smash.

Also the bench seats 8 in comfort - the old car only managed 5 in agony! Although I must concede 0-60 mph the bench is rubbish!!

Seriously, I despise cars and I've found out that buses and trains are actually pretty good these days...
I travelled to a mystical time zone
but I missed my bed
so I soon came home

Dibs!! What can I say!! It's beautiful, bet you love it and squeeze it and hug it......and is so you......I drive a boring old Zaphira so can get all kids and tools in the back. I did have the most beautiful Triumph Thunderbird though, in another life, loved it to bits, few weeks later, fell pregnant with number 4.......sigh! But your car is certainly individual, just like you, matey!!  ;D

Mine is a boring Chrysler Neon (auto) . Previously we had a Trooper (had to have a vehicle that enabled Charlie to get in to)  I should have kept it. After seeing yours Dibber methinks I might get son John to liven mine up with some graphics..Well why not? He thinks his Mum is mad already ;D :o

Dibberxxx - you seem to have bandwidthed yourself! I am much intrigued to see the car!

(Polo diesel, nice and economical and parks in tiny spaces that the Chelsea tractors won't fit in, yet is big enough for all my gardening clobber and a tall hubby!!!!)

Without wishing to embark on another wave of 'smuggery', I can only say that we've been there! But dibber asked for it??

1. RAF pay? No car till I was 30!! - 1950. Before that, cycled 12 miles each way to work each day for 2 years. Try that!! In uniform!!
2. Oh, sorry - a Wolseley Hornet 1941 ( £37) for a month or so. Unmarried then.
3. Briefly, a Marendaz Special - 1950 - £100 - now worth £3500. Paid £5 to have it scrapped.
4. Then, bless Aunt Lydia - Rover 1955 - Jaguar 1957 - Rover 1960 - Mini Traveller after crashing that! - + Mk1 Landrover - £150 - never been forgiven for binning that! 6 teenagers to Greece & back - and, since retirement - 30 years with? - see below. Sorry about loyalty, but "aircraft association?" See pic. Surprised??
5. " Cheerful" - but YES - hopefully calms. But green plates, & a (mature) daughter, & you are overtaken in the local High Street!!!
6. No car? We have several times pointed people that way - taxis if you need them - cheaper in the long run. But, even though we only do 2500 miles a year, so much of it is 5-up, or sheets of glass etc.

My most favourite car was my 3rd.  At 20 I took out my first loan and bought a jet black Ford Escort XR3i.  God I loved that car!  Blinging before my time!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ah Wardy, memories of the cars we have had. In the 70's and 80's we had two Jensen Intercepters (sp?) Daimler , Jaguar, Rolls Royce Shadow. (cost over £200 to have that one cleaned and leather work treated ). Although I loved the Jensen it was lethal in the snow. Was a real trouble to get Charlie to spend money on himself but he did like his cars. Oh and also an old Landrover to pull the horse box.
