News break!! Moon eclipse obscured.
« on: November 09, 2003, 11:25:07 »
The moon eclips was obscured and he sun didn't come up today. There is a thick smog hanging all over Europe. People are walking around with surgical masks on and a warning has gone out for young children and old people to stay indoors whenever possible and keep doors and windows closed. On CNN we saw that several countries are sending help, ships are on the way to England to aid in fighting the fire. ENGLAND BURNS, ARSON SUSPECTED.

Hope you all had a wonderful Bonfire day.

Cough, cough, cough. Heavens it is thick here. Please hurry with the fire appliances, I cannot keep this fiddling up for long

PS, Did you know that where I was born it was the custom to burn an effigy of the Pope rather than Guy Fawkes?

A lottle further north than that. My home town was very much split into R.C and Protestant factions. Bit like N.I but more Polish, Lithuaninan, etc. catholics versus indiginous Civil War non-conformists. But burning the Pope was fairly common throughout much of Puritan England up to about the middle of the 1800.s And for the next History less on please read Chapter 28 of your text book The demise of the Watch Making Industry in Lancashire. :)
