Redcube/ jupiter- anyone heard of these orgs?
« on: August 01, 2005, 22:51:43 »
Ok feel a bit silly because long story short i have been scammed by these folk- they sent me a phone and started a contract on my card without my consent.
Have cancelled my card and left angry messages with them but they dont seem to exist on the net or the phone for that matter.
So, if anyone phones you offering a free 3g phone will you please give them one hell of a b*ll*cking for me and ask your friends to do the same.
And have any of you heard of them? Id really like to give them some payback (and this phone they sent me) ::)

Thanks all in advance
John

phoned 3g and got my contract cancelled- told them i didnt agree to a contract and that the phone was missold, and warned them not to make any frivolous charges >:( , so im rather happy about that but i havent finished my vendetta against redcube. Complaining to 3g regarding it- the operator i talked to sounded familiar with such complaints.

Why would you need to cancel your card, if you have no contract ?

Brand new to this site and only got here because I looked up
redcube on google. They phoned me up and wanted my card
details(including the 3 digit security no. on the back) or my debit
card details-in other words everthing they needed to take money
out of my account using the "customer not present" procedure
used when people buy things over the phone.Wasn't happy and
refused the details which they SAID was only needed "to verify
the delivery address".They gave me their customer services no.
08707353890(only open Mon-Fri and today"s Saturday)
Whilst waiting Iwent looking on the internet for redcube and only
found it mentioned on this site. When they phoned back (to find
out if I had been reassured by customer services I was ready for them and kept them on for an hour whilst listening to all the
assurances in the world that nothing would be taken out of my
account until I had OK'd it(Yea-right !!). Very glad for the warnings
They said their address was Cottonsmore House,26 Chestnut
Grove,Fleetown ,Hamps GU5 13LW.Anyone live round there and
know what's at that address? Thanks again all.
I thought the deal was too good to be true--500 mins per month
any time to any network for 15pounds/month for 6 months then
30pounds/month for 12 months. After that no need to continue
PLUS 340pounds refund in the 14th month

Ed- they will set up a direct debit (or try to). You can easily cancel it. They are well affiliated with 3g. Heres what to do- Send back the phone (the charges they mention for returning are an empty threat). monitor your account with online or telephone banking and cancel any direct debit in the name of 3g. You can phone them- it will take a while of holding as they have lots of angry customers trying to get through- if you get through to redcube or 3g (i think they may be the same), have fun giving the operator a bo**ocking- make him/her aware that cold calling is illegal, let them no that they will not be making any frivolous charges, and generally call them liars and give them hassle- made me feel much better ;D . Let us know how you get on.

What happened was that I was willing to set up a direct debit
on my business bank account because I make loads of calls to
mobiles and I'm paying about 11p/minute to mobiles from my landline and they were offering 500mins/month for 15pounds
rising to 30pounds/month over18 months with no contract tie-in
after that,I keep the phone and I get a refund ov 340pounds in
month14 (if I send off for it).
I would not sign up for anything until I'd seen the contract and they said that would come with the phone at which time I could
examine the phone and the contract and sigh the direct debit form ----or if I didn't like anythiong I could send it all back.
So far OK but then they wanted all details of my personal credit
card details(including the security numbers on the back) or my
debit card details and when I asked why they said it was to confirm my identity ..I said b**ll**ks to that and I'm not giving
out that sort of info to a cold caller who for all I know could be anyone..I told them all the ways there were to confirm identity
and credit checks in the UK(he had an asian accent and the caller ID on my phone said it was an international call) but he just kept going over all the same points for over an hour until I got fed up and said goodbye.  Again, I'm grateful for your warnings and i
would not want to do business with an organisation which
indulges in what I consider to be sharp practice.
I leave this warning for anyone else looking for REDCUBE on the internet
