Hi back!! Lovely to see you and I am sure you will love the freedom this board has to offer.I had to change my name slightly,to Maggie,as there was a Margaret already on here. You will find many regulars, most of them from the BBC gardening section and we all have a good laugh,as you will have seen if you have been reading some of the posts.Ruth was on here, that is how we got chatting and we now E mail with our normal E mail address. She did not stay as she was more into birds than gardening. But you do not need to worry,I am not much of a gardener, but everyone is welcome on here.

Yes,I hope Carol finds the site by reading our posts back on the BBC,but if not I am sure she will join us very soon and we can tell her then.

:D :) ::) :-* ::)

Do you like the moving faces? Just one of the more quirky things on here!!

Hi Margaret and Teresa,

Yes Margaret you are correct. I did register back in August but, at the time, I thought it was basically for people with allotments. I didn't really give it a chance but I know better now.
I did like your little string of smilies, they really cheer up messages don't they? Something else the Beeb could do  on their site but probably never will.

I do have fish Teresa but not the type you mean. I only have a 4 foot tropical fish tank. My garden ponds are purely wildlife ponds. If I tried to keep fish in them I'd only be feeding the local herons, mink and probably even my neighbours cats!  They are, however, full of life. I have damselflies and dragonflies, pondskaters, water boatmen. caddis fly larve, diving beetles and of course frogs. I could go on but I see your eyelids are beginning to droop.

Nice of you both to reply so quickly, I'm beginning to feel at ease here already.

Cheers Eileen.

Hello Eileen,

WELCOME

(neat trick, eh?)

The wildlife forum here's really interesting - have a look at the UFO thread I started in the summer. Without all the help and detective work peeps here contributed, I'd never, ever have identified the bird I saw in my garden.

And the cookery forum's great, too (imagine! while some of us were remarking that it would be nice to have one, Dan had created it for us !!! - and we were too busy chatting to notice)  ::)

And then there are all the photos...

And then there's....

Enough! Dan's blushing!  ;D - Lishka

Don't worry,Eileen it took me several attempts before i mastered it! Glad to see you are enjoying it on here.Has Carol arrived yet? I have the bbc and this site next to each other on my favourites list and flit about like a mad thing.Have you had a private email yet.i thought of sending you one then you can return one,if you haven't already done so.

Hi to you too Rosebud. As i was saying,I had to be Maggie on here,a bit confusing, but hubby always refers to me as Maggie( i won't tell you what HE calls me !!!) .Whereas  to my family I am a very prim and proper Margaret.Had a friend who always called me Maggot!! and my beloved, now sadly departed this life ,dad would always call me Marg.So I don't want anyone else to,as you can appreciate.

Nice to have so many friendly people and I am sure Eileen feels as welcome as i was.

Thanks Teresa I'll give it a go.  I can be a bit dim at times but I'm sure I'll get there in the end.

Just a quickie this time Margaret,

I've not had any e.mails yet but now that I'm here and can chat away it doesn't seem so important any more.

I'm sure I saw "Carol_T " on the register, maybe it's not OUR Carol though. I've asked her if it is  her on the Beeb's NM board. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose. Can't wait to chat to her properly though.

I was glad to see that Rosebud has made it across too, I read your post to her about your name.

Wellll - here goes - I have an elder sister called Margaret and that is the only name she goes by but I also have a friend called Margaret and she is known as Meg. Then another friend's mother is known as Marge. Thank goodness my name can't really be shortened to anything altough I get called 'Big I' by a small neighbour and E by a few folks. Why does everybody feel the urge to shorten names I wonder?  Just to confuse things further my Grandmother was Margaret (Maggie) and I have a cousin  (I think that's them all)  known as  Mags.

Gosh this board is getting too addictive!!

Bye for now, Eileen

I really MUST get off this site but it is sooooo addictive being able to chat to my hearts content. Thanks for the info. again Teresa I'll try it out later. I'll be an expert yet hopefully.

I see that Rosebud and Granny Smith have joined us - I feel a party coming on.  Now if only Carol were here with us. BBFN Eileen.

Well hello everyone.  It took me 12  ...... tries tonight again to get logged on.  It was only after shouting on my darling husband - IAN!!!!   with the heid getting lost and him sitting next to me that I got logged on.  It was only what I had been doing all along.
So hello, Margaret and Eileen.  I have made it.  Now what do I do?
Had an awfyl day today was in Edinburgh Eileen.  First thing I saw at Dalkeith, you guessed it,  a magpie.  Anyway the city was very very busy.  I took a headache, had lunch at Lewis and took a pill and wanted home again.  The rain was awful and the streets busy.  Bought nowt for Christmas.
Well thats me started chatting.  I am into the Shed now how do you get out again.

Hi Carol - Great you made it - just read your message.

I hategoing into Edinburgh and I've really got no need to as (apart from visiting relatives) we've got all the shops we need here in Almonvale.
I had an aunt that lived in Dalkeith until she passed away a few months ago.
Boy , we really do seem to move in the same circles. Isn't it strange that we may have passed each other and never known anything about it!

I didn't come through the shed this time I went into members at the top of the page and then (where is says by letter or whatever) I clicked C - found you - and then clicked on your name and here I am.
I'll nip over to the shed now.
