I've booked onto a funghi course in Kent, think it's October 8th. If you're interested I'll post a link to the website, it's £25 for the course (well more like a morning out with an expert showing you what to look for).

I know they used to do them in Epping Forest. At least they did a few years back. I'm trying to find details myself as I'd love to do on one!

The pinetum is top mushroom ground, I live just up the road and often pick in Bedgebury.

Fantastic :D Lucky you living so close to Bedgebury. Once I know what to look for I'll be out searching for good spots to pick. Backing onto our allotment behind a farm field is a wood, I've seen mushrooms in there often but never know if they're edible or not, hoping our day out at bedgebury will give us more confidence. Someone recommended the Roger Phillips book which I might buy as well.

They do say alcohol is bad for you ;) ;D But seriously I do think having a good book and even a network of fellow mushroomers to help identify and give advice is a good idea. :)
