 :)ah ha,after a 2 hour trawl on the net i have eventually found the hackney council allotment address etc.
here it is.

I just googled and it came up with Hackney allotments in a sec  ;D   It's on www.hackney.org

If you know where the sites are go and have a look then you'll know where the vacant ones are BEFORE you go to put your name down.  Pick the sites nearest to where you live and which would be easiest to get to etc.  Then armed with that info you can go and TELL the council which one you want and you know that it's not being used cos you've been to look.

Thanks for the tips. I swear the site wasnt there when i was searching. it says 29th july 05 on it.Im going plot hunting hopefully over the weekend.Cant wait.
