A married woman was rather intimately entertaining a gentleman `friend`  Hearing her young son come into the house she waylaid him on the stairs and bundled him into the airing cupboard and locked the door, and then went back to her `friend`.  However, a few minutes later she heard her husband come into the house, so she quickly dragged her `friend` to the airing cupboard and locked him in also.

The son, glad to have company, said “Dark in here, isn`t it”. “Yes” the man replied.
The son said “I`ve got a cricket ball here. Do you want to buy it? It`s only £25”
The man thought “What the hell” and paid up.
Next day the same thing happened and the boy was again locked in the closet with the `friend`. “Dark in here” the boy said.  “Yes” the man replied. “Do you want to buy a cricket bat?” the boy asked. The man bought it for £75.

The next day the boy`s father said “Lets go and have a bit of cricket practice on the lawn” The boy replied 'I sold my cricket bat and ball for £100".  His father said “That`s disgraceful. It`s far more than they were worth. It`s wrong to rob your friends like that. I'm going to take you to the Confessional” And so they went off to the Parish Church.

As the boy entered the confessional box he commented “Dark in here”



“Oh, for heavens sake don't start that again!” said the priest.
