Re-using Yeast
« on: August 08, 2005, 10:53:12 »
An awful lot of yeast has been breeding in my blackberry wine.
I was wondering if there is any way i can re-use it rather that poiur it down the sink.

Do you just need to dry it ?

Ya can grow it! I used to di it with beer sediment!

A bit of sugar and an air lock (Must be air lock or its an explosion and a new kitchen and may be devorce)

Just keep feeding it. Must confess never done it with wine yeast but I suppose it is worth a try! It works well with beer sedement. For that I would use something called spraymalt! ;) )
